Teenís Church

Teenís Church of Mount Moriah Baptist Church is a special service of worship designed to minister to teens in a relevant and meaningful way. Their special time in worship provides a biblically based sermon dealing with issues relative to the peculiar concerns of contemporary youth. The music is curtailed to satisfy the taste of youth as it is upbeat and enthusiastic. Each worship experience begins with a Praise and Thanksgiving Service in which the teens really relate to well. Opportunities for testimonies give the worshippers a time of expressions regarding their relationship with Jesus Christ and to talk about other situations in their lives. The atmosphere of love created in this experience of worship allows the presence of God to be more real to these young people. Each one has the privilege to read scriptures, lead in prayer, lead songs and respond to the word of God.

Teenís Church is held two or three times a month on Sunday while worship service is held in the main sanctuary. Youths are provided an opportunity to assist the trustees in counting the monies received in Teenís Church and preparing it for delivery to the bank. This worship service is arrayed with teen ushers who meet and greet worshippers with a smile. As you can see, Teenís Church is about worship, but it is also about training teens to participate in the main sanctuary.

In 2002, MMBC completed a newly constructed Chapel and Family Life Center Complex with a seating capacity of 150 at a cost of $3.04 Million. This facility provides the teens with a special place of worship in an absolutely beautiful chapel. The church provides a minister to conduct the worship services. The Reverend Walter Belton and Reverend Milferd Brock respectively gave leadership to this ministry until they were called to pastor in a local church. Currently, Minister Gary Jordan is the Youth Minister of the Teenís and is Youth Worship Leader. He is an excellent speaker and delivers very thought provoking and spiritually challenging messages to the teens. Time is given for questions and answers. Teens are frequently led to Christ or to a life of rededication. A social time is planned after each worship service for fellowship and interaction.

The Teens of MMBC look forward to ďTeenís ChurchĒ and appreciate having a worship experience tailored to their needs.

All member and non-member teens are welcome to attend.
